Even though PET bottles do not get damaged visually when storing sodium chlorite in them doesn't mean some chemical reaction isn't taking place that contaminates sodium chloride to some degree. I can not find where I saw this but Jim Humble says to use glass preferably but also says HDPE is OK. However, I have heard others like you say HDPE bottles can split so glass is best. It may be that some thicker better quality HDPE bottles aren't so much of a problem. One of the few places Genesis church recommends to buy MMS from is Pure Living Store at
pureliving.store/
and they have used HDPE bottles for a long time. If they had customers complaining about the bottles splitting I would image they would have changed bottles some time ago.

Hi Michael,
Just out of curiosity - what's the current rate $$ on a 500 lb drum do you know? That would be the best way to go obviously.
Thanks
Shane

Thanks!

Hi Peter,
Thank you for the info. Who would have thought we have to be careful of lead in glass. Can you recommend a brand? Also, just wondering, what kind of droppers do you use? Do you think it would be ok to use a regular eye dropper just to get the drops for measuring but not for storage?

I would not use a glass dropper + silicone squeeze bulb as a bottle cap. Use a solid cap. You can use the dropper cap to dispense liquid from the bottle. Thoroughly rinse the dropper cap with water after use.

Hi Vida. The best glass bottles to use with the chemicals that we use would be Borosilicate glass 3.3. The bottle caps could be glass or plastic of any kind, if you use a PTFE disk to seal the bottle. I buy sheets of 0.3mm thick PTFE and cut sealing discs using scissors. Marking the correct diameter may not be easy. Sometimes I use a divider with an ink marker or a template of circles if the template has the correct diameter I need. Or, take out the existing seal and draw around that onto the PTFE sheet.Hi Peter,
